| Site outage.. | 2006-02-05 10:51:53EST |

The site was down for a while in the past 24hrs. An access log filled up to the filesystem limit (2gb:) and the server croaked. Shoddy systems administration on my part, my apologies. |

Moving right along in the new year.
No bug or annoyance is too small to report.
We also still need serious layout/design help for the user interface.
Please send suggestions.
Thanks!

Batch image upload funtionality has been restored.
Images will be subject to the same approval process
which has been implemented for single image uploads.
Thank you,

Individual image upload funtionality has been restored. There will be a delay between the time when you submit your images and their approval..
Eventually we will enable auto-approval for our top contributors.
Thank you for your patience.

| Updated 'BLOG' Functionality.. | 2005-02-21 10:38:49EST |
 |
I'm really starting to hate teh word BLOG..
'BLOG', 'WIKI', who names these things ??
Made a few changes to the way the journals work, hopefully its a bit cleaner and provides more information.
I also started the framework for custom 'BLOG' templates,
which will be managed via Account -> Profile..
Anyways, let me know what you think.. |

| Similar Image Display | 2004-11-23 20:14:06EST |
 |
Each image will display images similarly categorized as the legacy site does..
What this means is that to get better matches for your images,
you need to add them to as many categories as applicable.
To have your image included in the 'Similar Images' search results you must add it to at least 2 site categories..
Questions??

A wiki has been installed to help document stuff.
Feel free to wander over to /wiki and document the site,
questions you might have, or just ideas for the future.

- Started rolling out o2 code for a couple of other installations. As a result of this, serious code problems
are being slowly ironed out. Research from this work will also go into improving the installer (which doesnt quite work right now)
- Added initial support for attaching threaded comments to an image|page|user|series|whatever. The display isnt quite threaded yet though.
- Got a bug or pet feature? Let us know :)

| Admin Improvements | 2004-09-20 09:32:55EST |
 |
Image administration is a bit easier to work with now.
The 'Edit Image' screen now pops up in a smaller frame,
which i find makes editing faster.
Also, images with missing keywords/titles (and soon, categories) are flagged in red type below each image.
These are simply reminders that your images are missing important metadata.
Missing data is hurtful because search engines rely on this information, which in turn means that your work is less likely to recv. the proper exposure it deserves .
